Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced during a press briefing on Thursday that a 66-year-old man in Campbell County has died due to the historic flooding in the state, bringing the death toll to six. Beshear reported that 70 out of Kentucky’s 120 counties have declared states of emergency, urging residents to exercise caution and avoid driving through water or around barricades. The Ohio River has crested in Louisville but continues to rise downstream, with forecasts predicting crests in Owensboro, Henderson, and Paducah in the coming days. The flooding has caused widespread damage and disruption, with hundreds of residents in Taylor County left without water and residents in Utica facing a long cleanup process. The state is also dealing with the aftermath of tornadoes that hit the area on April 2nd-3rd. Various organizations are stepping in to assist those affected by the natural disasters.
